Google and Gmail data is used only for visible, user-facing Postbird features requested by the user. Postbird does not sync or scan the whole mailbox.

Google API Limited Use
Postbird uses optional Gmail read-only access only to retrieve messages from the current thread when a signed-in user explicitly connects Gmail and requests Context.

Postbird's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Chrome Web Store disclosures must also stay aligned before publication.
No advertising or generalized training
Gmail or Google data must not be used for advertising, resale, or generalized AI model training.
Authorization and storage
Postbird requests only Gmail read-only access. Free uses online authorization and silent exact-account renewal where Google permits it. Paid requests offline access so Postbird can store a private application-encrypted refresh credential and mint short-lived extension access tokens. Access tokens remain session-only; the refresh credential is never returned to the extension and is erased on Disconnect, membership loss, Paid-entitlement loss, or account deletion. The backend does not read Gmail content.
User control
Postbird sign-in and Gmail permission are separate. Users see an in-product disclosure before Google consent, can dismiss it and keep using visible-thread Local helpers, and can disconnect Gmail from Settings.
